Cut ‘n’ Polish is a soft wax holding fine abrasive in suspension. Use your normal abrasives down to 240 grit then apply a liberal coat on the piece, start the lathe, and using a soft cloth, buff it to a shine.
 

It works because the abrasive powder breaks down to finer and finer particles as pressure is applied. Can be used before or after sealing and can be overcoated with friction polish or wax for a higher shine.
